Source carries four choices — Airbnb, Booking.com, Direct, Referral — and the link comes back the other way as a field on Properties, so one property record lists every stay it has held. Rename any of it. A database holds a million records, so the thing you outgrow won’t be the size.

The difference

Two dates become one bar.

Three things a spreadsheet can’t do with a pair of dates, however carefully you format the cells.

A stay is drawn, not read

Add a calendar view, set Start to Check-in and End to Check-out, and every booking draws as a bar from the day they arrive to the day they leave. A stay that began last month and ends in this one still shows up in this one.

In a sheet, two date cells stay two date cells.

One property, one record

Bookings point at Properties. Change a nightly rate or an address once and every stay that uses it is already right — and one property record lists everyone who has ever held it.

In a sheet, the address is retyped on every line that mentions it.

Arriving this week is a view

Filter where Check-in is on or after today and before one week from now, then save it. The view stores the words rather than the dates, so it is right again on Monday without anyone touching it.

A sheet keeps the dates. It can’t keep the question.

In and out

A guest can fill in their own dates.

Two things that keep a booking table current: a way in that isn’t you typing, and a way out to whatever sends your messages.

A form for an enquiry

Publish one and send the link. They put in their name, their dates and how many people are coming — no account, no seat — and it arrives as a record in Bookings for you to confirm.

A webhook on the day

Set the condition — check-in is today, still unpaid — and Tabla posts to any URL on the day it becomes true, with nobody in the app. Make, n8n, or your own endpoint sends the message.

Try it on one property.

The starter opens with six stays and three properties, one of them mid-stay. Add a calendar view, set End to Check-out, and the nights everyone holds are drawn across the month. Put a sum on Total, filter to that month, and the figure at the foot of the table is what it is worth.
