We’re not trying to be your automation tool.

You already picked one. Point a webhook at it — a quick click, the exact conditions you want — and every fire lands with the before and the after, so your platform never goes back to ask what changed. What we left out, and why.

A comparison that only flatters itself isn’t worth reading. So here’s what Airtable has that we don’t — some left out by design, because a database should stay a database, and some simply on the way.

Interface Designer — Airtable lets you build an app on top of your data. Tabla is a database, on purpose; app-building is a different product, and not the one we set out to make.

In-app automation & two-way sync — rather than a weaker automation engine bolted inside the database, we fire signed, logged webhooks to the platform you already run — Make, n8n, Zapier, your own code. Those tools are far more capable than anything a database should try to be, and they keep every integration in one place.

AI — Airtable includes it on every plan, the free one included, with a monthly allowance of credits and more sold in packs. We ship none. Every record is reachable over the API and comes out in the export, so what you run over your data stays your choice.
