NocoDB’s features climb. Coloring starts on Plus. Row-level security and audit logs wait for Scale. And if you self-host, coloring needs an Enterprise licence.
Self-hosted, coloring needs Enterprise — which is to say the open-source edition can’t color a row at all.
Your webhooks have a monthly allowance.
Ten thousand runs a month on Plus. Fifty thousand on Business. A hundred thousand API calls. Records capped at fifty thousand, then three hundred thousand. Here, none of those numbers exist — a webhook just fires, as often as your work does, carrying the before and the after, every time.

And it’s faster. That same 50,000-row table opens in Tabla in about a third of a second and searches in under a tenth — NocoDB takes five seconds to open it and about six-tenths to search. Roughly 15× quicker to a usable grid, timed in the browser on both live sites.

The small stuff only a builder would bother with.
Not a comparison — just the details we sweated. None of it wins a chart. All of it is the difference between a tool you use and a tool you fight.
- ✓Paste two hundred records into a table that already has some, and it asks — add, or replace?
- ✓Change a field’s type and it warns you first — a conversion happens only when every value fits.
- ✓Filter on a linked field — and on lookups and rollups through the links.
- ✓Undo, and a trash that holds records and tables for seven days.
- ✓One filter syntax — the same in the grid, the API, and your webhooks. Written down.
- ✓Every webhook delivery is logged with what was sent and what came back — and can be replayed.
What we do differently.
NocoDB is a genuinely good tool, and open source. So here’s what it does that we don’t — some by design, some simply on the way.
- By designOpen source, self-hosted — NocoDB runs free on your own server, forever, and its maintainer has said it stays that way. We chose hosted-only, on purpose: one product done properly, with a one-click export so you’re never locked in. A real trade, honestly made.
- By designIt sits on a database you already run — Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, wearing a grid. Tabla keeps your data in its own managed Postgres instead, so there’s nothing for you to operate or keep online. A different job, deliberately.
- By designMap view — plotting records geographically. A niche we haven’t taken on; we shipped the views teams open every day first.
- On the wayMore view types — NocoDB counts six to our four. The four we shipped are the ones teams reach for most; others can follow as people ask.
- On the waySSO, SCIM, row-level security, audit logs — the controls larger organizations need. Planned as we grow into bigger teams.
