How billing works

Who counts as an editor?
Anyone who can edit at least one database in your account, counted once however many they edit. The first editor is free, and counting stops at 25. Viewers never count, and neither do API keys or an admin who only looks after the bill.
What if I add an editor partway through the month?
You pay for them when they join, for just the part of the month or year that’s left, and they’re in as soon as that payment goes through. Take an editor off and the time you didn’t use becomes credit toward future bills on this account.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. Moving to yearly happens straight away, and what’s left of your month is credited toward it. Moving back to monthly starts when your year is up. Yearly costs about a fifth less.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel any time, from Billing. Everyone keeps editing until the end of the month or year you’ve paid for, and nothing is charged after that. Then the account is free again: one editor keeps editing, everyone else can still open and read everything, and nothing is deleted. Payments already made aren’t refunded, except where local law gives you that right; the refund policy has the details.
Do you charge sales tax?
Where your country charges sales tax or VAT, it’s added at checkout, worked out from your address, and shown before you pay. A business can add its tax ID there too.
Do I get invoices?
Yes. Every invoice is emailed to you, and they’re all in Billing under Manage billing to download, with your company’s name, address and tax ID on them once you add them.
Which currency do I pay in?
Prices are set in US dollars. At checkout, Stripe may show the amount in your own currency, and you can pay in dollars instead.
Which cards can I pay with?
Most credit and debit cards. Some, including some issued in Egypt, need international payments turned on first, usually in the bank’s app.
What will the charge look like on my statement?
Payments go through Stripe, so the line on your bank statement reads LINK.COM* TABLA, Link being Stripe’s checkout. Your emailed receipt shows the same line, so the two are easy to match.
