What's free during the beta, and what happens after

Tabla is in open beta, and the deal is one sentence long, straight off the top of every page on the site:

Open beta — everything's free right now, and your rate is locked when it ends.

Unpacked: billing isn't switched on. There is no card to enter, no trial clock, and no gated tier — every field type, every view, the API, webhooks, members, export, all of it, for everyone. The pricing page says it in its own words: "The prices and limits here are the plan for when we start charging, and whatever rate you're on when the beta ends is the rate you keep." Since the rate you're on today is free, that promise is worth reading twice.

The published plans

Two plans are published for when billing starts. The numbers below are the live pricing page's, quoted, not paraphrased.

Solo — $0 a month, always. For one person running the whole thing: "the entire product — every field, view, the API, webhooks, export — 5 GB of files, no time limit, no credit card." The page is explicit that this isn't a trial: "It's the real tool, free, for as long as it's just you."

Team — $6 per editor per month billed annually, $8 monthly. Everything in Solo plus 100 GB of files and your people. The mechanics, as published:

• The first editor stays free, and viewers are always free — only editors are ever counted.
• Each new editor is priced by a small bracket, never retroactively: editors 2–10 are $6, 11–20 are $8, 21–25 are $10 (annual rates).
• The count stops at 25. Editor 26 and onward don't move the bill — the page calls it a ceiling, and means it: "Hire your 40th person — the price doesn't move."

The page's own worked example: a team of 5 comes to $24 a month billed annually — four paid editors at $6, the first one free. The calculator on the page does the same arithmetic for any size, and only editors move it.

No feature gates, on purpose

There is no feature that Team has and Solo lacks. The pricing page's own feature grid is headed "Everything's included — on both plans": views, linked records, lookups, rollups, formulas, the full API with no monthly call cap, webhooks, whole-database export, trash, roles and invitations.

What actually differs between the plans is people and file storage — Solo is one person with 5 GB of files; Team is the same product with editors on the meter and 100 GB. That's the entire pricing surface. If a capability ever seems missing, it's missing for everyone and probably on the wishlist, not held behind a tier.

During the beta this is more than copy: nothing in the running product checks what plan you're on, because there are no plans to check yet. The one thing you'll notice missing from the app is billing settings — there aren't any. Signing up takes an email address and a magic link, and that's the entire transaction.

The limits that do exist — file sizes, rate limits, the million-record ceiling — are identical on every plan, free included.

If you stop paying, later

Also published now, so you can hold us to it: cancel and you drop to the free plan. "Nothing is deleted — not a record, not a file, not a table." Past the free limits you can't add more, but everything you built keeps working, and the export stays free. And separately: "Prices may change for new signups. Yours won't, for as long as you stay."

What this page can't promise

No date for the beta ending — we don't publish roadmap dates, here or anywhere. What's fixed is the shape of the deal: free now, your rate kept at the switch, viewers never billed, and no version of the product that's better than the one you already have. If the numbers above ever disagree with pricing, the pricing page wins — it's the source, this is the explanation. Where the data itself stands, whatever you pay, is /your-data and leaving Tabla.
